about

Brendan McGlinchy is one of Irelands master fiddlers and composers. This is one of my favourites from him. A difficult and flute unfriendly tune but a beauty. I don't have an original name for the second tune but got it from my friend and great County Clare flute player, Geraldine McNamara. Another difficult flute tune that tests the flute fingers but well worth the practice. Sean Ryan's is the third piece that I got from Galway flute and whistle player Joe Skelton. We used to meet up at the Kilmihil Fleadh in County Clare and swap tunes. This one came from his renowned Bb whistle set that used to leave people in awe. Oh how I wish my old tape recordings had survived!
